Jolla tracker music support package now available!

Sorry for the massive delay, just over a year or so... Anyway, now you can listen to your favorite tracker music files on your Jolla and feel all nostalgic!

Because of harbour limitations, mod-support is only available from openrepos.

mod-support for N9 published!

After shuffling around the files and playing with symlinks I got a package together that QA liked. And it is now published in the Nokia Store! Enjoy

N950 module playback packages

And if you would like to test module playback on your N950 or N9, then you can install the armel packages available at http://ftp.tal.org/pub/maemo/testing/harmattan/

You need these two:
Just install with dpkg and that should be it.

(Let me know if it works, especially if you have a N9 with the rumored to have more up-to-date firmware than the one on the N950. Thanks.)

N950 module playback

Preliminary testing of adding module playback support to the N950 (and N9). Getting playback didn't require as much work as for the N900, tracker already marks modules as audio and the media player picks them up, but can't play them as it's missing the required gstreamer element (modplug).

A proper tracker miner would be a plus, as right now all modules get dumped in the "Unknown artist"/"Unknown album" categories and the filename is used as the title. Not nice.

Anyway, my first talkie:

mod-support for the Nokia N900

For good old old-school demo/scene/etc music on your N900, install mod-support. Now with proper metadata extraction so the media player will show you titles (and creates a fake artists/album so all your mods go nicely into one "Album" for easy separation from those silly mp3s :)
Latest version is waiting to get built, should be available soon in extras-testing. Please vote on it so it gets into proper extras.
(While at it, I upgraded the libmodplug package and built it with proper optimizations and optification)
